A live, navigable organisation chart built from Entra ID reporting structure. Start anywhere, drill up or down, click anyone for their full profile. Always current - no PDF uploads, no annual re-drawing, no "who does that person actually report to?" conversations.
The Problem
Your org chart lives in a PowerPoint slide HR updated eighteen months ago, a PDF pinned to a SharePoint page nobody remembers how to edit, or it doesn't exist at all. New starters ask who their skip-level is. Project leads can't work out who to escalate to. Every reorg means another round of manual redrawing. The structure changes weekly, the chart changes annually.
The Solution
Org Chart reads Entra ID reporting relationships live. Every manager-reports line you already have in Microsoft 365 becomes a node. Users pick a starting point - a department head, a specific person, themselves - and navigate up to senior leadership or down into reporting lines. Click anyone, see their full profile. When HR updates a manager assignment in Entra ID, the chart updates instantly. No maintenance.
How Navigation Works
No giant wall chart to squint at. Pick a person, see their immediate context, move from there.
Search for a person, department head or team lead. Or start with yourself and explore outwards.
Expand a manager to see who reports into them. Click a manager's manager to move up a level. One click at a time, no giant tree to navigate.
Photo, job title, department, email, phone, Teams chat link. Same contact card as Employee Directory, so the experience is consistent.

An org chart that's always current because nobody has to maintain it.
Live From Entra ID
Reads manager-reports relationships directly from Entra ID. When HR or IT updates a reporting line, the chart reflects it immediately. No manual sync, no scheduled jobs.
Flexible Starting Point
Users search for anyone to start. Explore from yourself, from the CEO, from a department head, or from a team lead you heard about in a meeting. Context scales to the user's need.
Navigate Up and Down
Expand a manager to see their direct reports. Click a manager's manager to move up the tree. Progressive disclosure keeps the chart readable at any company size.
Clickable Profile Cards
Click any person to see their full profile - photo, job title, department, email, phone, Teams chat link. Same contact card format as Employee Directory, so users learn it once.
Scope Controls
Restrict to specific departments, locations or security groups. Useful for a regional intranet site or keeping sensitive reporting lines private.
Responsive and Teams-Ready
Horizontal chart on desktop, vertical stacked on mobile, full functionality in Teams tabs. Works on any device field-based staff might use.

The chart will only be as accurate as the data. If manager assignments are missing or outdated, those branches will look broken. Most customers find that deploying Org Chart creates helpful pressure to clean up Entra ID - something HR and IT have probably been meaning to do for years. Once the data is right, the chart stays right forever.
Yes. Scope the chart to specific departments, office locations or security groups. Common patterns: a regional intranet site shows only its own region, the HR hub shows everyone, a department site shows just that team's structure.
Entra ID stores a primary manager relationship, which is what the chart displays. Dotted lines, matrix structures and project reporting aren't native to Entra ID. If you need to surface them, we can extend the web part to read from a separate SharePoint list as part of a retained support engagement.
Yes. Exclusions are managed through a SharePoint list - HR adds a user, they don't appear. Common uses: senior leadership who prefer not to be traversed, staff on sensitive assignments, contractors. Their manager relationship still exists in Entra ID; they just don't render in this view.
Employee Directory is a flat, searchable grid of everyone - great for "find a person" tasks. Org Chart is the relationship view of the same data - great for "how do these teams fit together?" tasks. They share the same profile card format, so users learn the interface once. Most customers deploy both.
Yes. When a SharePoint page is embedded as a tab in Teams, Org Chart renders correctly. Profile card clicks open Teams chats directly from within the tab.
