Why reading time changes how intranet content performs
News sites and blogs have shown “3 min read” labels for years for a simple reason: people commit to content when they know the cost upfront. Intranets rarely do this, so policy updates and announcements get skimmed or abandoned halfway. Page Read brings the same pattern to SharePoint, and it deploys tenant-wide in one install rather than page by page, so every existing and future page gets the reading time and progress bar automatically. Pair it with Table of Contents on longer pages and readers can see both how long a page is and where they are in it.

Page Read is an SPFx application customiser. It reads only the page being viewed and needs no extra Microsoft Graph access.
Where your data goes
Reading time and progress are worked out in the browser. Nothing about what people read is sent to us.
To check your licence, the extension sends your tenant ID to our licensing service, hosted in Microsoft Azure UK South. No user content or personal data is included.

A standard SPFx package, uploaded by your admin to your own tenant app catalogue and activated tenant-wide. You can switch it off or remove it at any time.

No. It’s an application customiser rather than a web part, so once activated it appears at the top of every modern SharePoint page automatically.
How is reading time worked out?
From the number of words on the page, using a typical reading speed. It updates whenever the page changes.
Is it in a bundle?
Yes, Page Read is included in the Complete Bundle with all 18 web parts. It isn’t part of the Starter Bundle.
Can we pay by invoice or purchase order?
